Webinar 1: Applying mobile technology in the global conservation and development effort
Ken Banks founded kiwanja.net in 2003 to help grassroots NGOs make better use of mobile technology in their work. In the first Webinar, he talks about the impact of mobile phones in the work of NGOs. Ken will highlight the many uses of mobile technology in conservation and development work - including health, education, wildlife conservation and economic empowerment - and look at some of the solutions available, including FrontlineSMS, his own text messaging platform which was recently used to monitor the Nigerian elections.
