(Redirected from RFID)
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification and is in very simple terms a form of electronic "tagging".
The technology needs two pieces of equipment: a suitable microchip, for storing data and processing a wireless signal, and a compatible handheld device for sending and receiving the information.
There are many RFID mobile phones existing today, as well as PDA's and other portable devices. The most typical useage of RFID tags is in monitoring and product tracking, passports and road-toll payments.
