Data synchronization
From Shareideas
Data synchronization technologies are designed to synchronize a single set of data between two or more devices, automatically copying changes back and forth. For example, a user's contact list on one mobile device can be synchronized with the contact list of another mobile device or computer.
Mobile devices often use Bluetooth, infrared, or a cable connection to synchronize data with devices side by side. One may also synchronize data remotely over a mobile data network.
Data synchronization can be used to make backups of data on a mobile device to computer, or to transfer contact or other data with your colleagues and friends. With the help of remote synchronization you may read emails and/or update your calendar information.
