(Redirected from GPRS)
General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a technology for mobile data transfer. GPRS can be used with such services as WAP, SMS and MMS, and for Internet connectivity.
You need GPRS if you are planning to download, upload, and/or send a lot of data from your mobile phone to other mobile phones or to servers. The data to be sent or uploaded can be a picture, audio, or video file. The most common data downloaded are mobile ring tones and games.
GPRS works on a standard GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network. In most parts of the world, GPRS is the de facto mobile network. Most of mobile phone models are able to use the GPRS connection.
