E-mail (electronic mail) has become one of the most important tools in many jobs. Today e-mail is used almost everywhere in the world. This makes it a very powerful, but also fragile tool.
E-mail is widely used in person-to-person communication, allowing you compose, send, receive, store, and forward messages. You can also have e-mail lists for announcements and for group communication. E-mail lists are powerful group working environments, especially if all the messages sent to the list are archived in a server, making it possible to later track back the discussion in the list.
Because anyone can send e-mail to almost anyone, at little to no cost, e-email communication has become littered with unwanted messages and advertising.
